International Family Fun Night (IFFN)

Mark your calendars for IFFN! This is one of Hillside’s favorite events! Join us on Friday, March 24th from 6:00-7:30pm for International Family Fun Night! Grab your family and go explore! Sample delicious food from around the world, enjoy cultural dance and music performances. Have fun at the photo booth, enjoy face painting and other activities that evening. All world travelers (our students) are provided a “passport” upon arrival with program details for the evening and can use it to receive a stamp from different parts of the world through our Business Partner scavenger hunt.

This is an amazing opportunity to celebrate the diversity within our school and community. We are looking for volunteers to help in a variety of ways. Whether your family has been here for generations, you’re a more recent arrival to the US, or you’ve lived, worked or traveled abroad, we’d love for you to represent a country/culture by hosting a table where you can prepare food samples for our “tourists” traveling around the world. We encourage fun table settings with artifacts and a list of fun facts about your heritage and/or the country you are representing.

We are looking for individuals who own traditional dress from a country/ culture to participate in a fashion show. We love our cultural performances by our students, their families and the community. We are looking for performances of 5-10 minutes (must provide your own music).

K-2 Family Math Night

Join us on Thursday, March 16th, for K-2 Family Math Night! All kindergarten, first, and second grade students are invited to experience math in the real world at the Publix on Haynes Bridge, across from Newtown Park, from 5:30-7:30 pm! Students will receive a math sheet to complete while walking around the store and will get a small prize when they are done.

*Please note, a parent or guardian must stay. This is not a drop off event.*

Wellness Room

As a PTA, we are always looking for small ways in which we can support the teachers and staff at Hillside. The school has created space to have a Wellness Room for the staff and we would like to regularly stock it with grab and go snacks. If you are interested in helping out, please sign up below. There will be bins outside the front doors for drop off starting next week!
